Natural Resource Forum Event and Tanzania Natural Resource Forum AGM (6th and 7th November, 2015) held successfully

On the 6th of November 2015, TNRF held a Natural Resource Forum Event, which brought together experts and practitioners from various natural resource areas including; Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM), Land and Investments and Climate Change.

The main objective of the Natural Resource Forum was to provide the platform for multi-stakeholder exchange of information, experiences and agreeing on the common course for the sustainable and equitable use of natural resources in Tanzania. Specifically, the forum;

  • Engaged multi-stakeholders to promote dialogue on natural resources in Tanzania.
  • Share lessons and experience related to community based natural resource management, land based investments, and climate change
  • Discuss innovative options and best practices that can be replicated or scaled up to ensure sustainable and equitable utilization of natural resources
  • Increased publicity of the work of TNRF and its members through mainstream and social media.

Participants at the event were convened from various organizations including; civil society organizations, government ministries and departments, media, academia, donor communities, private sector, grassroots communities, and members of TNRF.

As a forum, we plan to hold these events on an annual basis going forward and believe that you as our Members will greatly benefit and play a crucial role in driving the agenda. We are grateful for your full participation in these events and contribution to the secretariat.
