Background to TNRF-Maajabu
TNRF-Maajabu Films, a program of TNRF communications department, produces films with communities about management and governance of natural resources. Demand for films by Maajabu comes from a range of partners, from community-based organizations, schools and national level non-governmental organizations. Maajabu aims to produce films that help communities share their voice and opinions on issues regarding governance of natural resources.
The name Maajabu, which means ‘amazing, wonderful' in Swahili, reflects the dynamic effect of film on people and its ability to pass on incredible images and messages. Maajabu takes the produced films back to the communities involved to share the experience with the communities in Tanzania and abroad. The films stir debate, bring smiles, tears, wonder and excitement!
