COORDINATED INVASIVE PLANT MANAGEMENT TO PROTECT TANZANIAN BIODIVERSITY AND LIVELIHOODS.

Tanzania Natural Resources Forum (TNRF), Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI), CABI, Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA), and Community for Research and Development Services  (CORDS) launched a new project on coordinated invasive plant management to protect Tanzanian biodiversity and livelihoods in Lake Natron.

CSO’s SPACE ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY FOR GENERATIONAL EQUALITY

Globally, International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated every 8th of March, where the contributions of women and girls around the world in social, economic, cultural, and political affairs are recognized and amplified.  

In Tanzania, the IWD was nationally commemorated on Tuesday 8th March 2022, where every region had an opportunity to collaborate with Civil Society Organizations to celebrate this special day for women and girls, with the theme “Generation equality for sustainable development”.

After successful piloting of Participatory Rangeland Management (PRM) project in Kiteto District where four clusters are currently implementing the CRIF projects, further two projects are replicated at Lesingita village, Longido District, and Ruvuremit, Simanjoro district. The government officials from the Ministry of livestock and fisheries, Ministry of Natural Resource and Tourism, Vice President Office, Ministry of Land Housing Human Settlement and Development, Ministry of Agriculture, and Manyara, and Arusha Regional Secretariats traveled to Kiteto on a learning visit.
