The Kiteto District Authorities led by District Commissioner, Mr. Tumaini Magesa and District Executive Director Mr. Kambona Tamimu on 24^th June, 2020 officiated the handing over of the Livestock Associations Certificates of Registration to clusters of ALLOLE, KIMBO and NAPALAI. This was a great step towards implementation of the Participatory Rangelands Management (PRM) Project in strengthening the grazing land management institutions for proper governance of the rangelands for improved food security and livelihoods. The legal status of the Livestock associations is facilitating smooth implementation of the Community Rangelands Investment Funds (CRIF) with respect to approved Grazing land Management Plans. This success was due to strong partnership between Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) and its partners: KINNAPA, Ministry of Livestock, and Kiteto District Council, National Land use Planning Commission (NLUPC), Sokoine University of Agriculture, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) among others, funded by EU through International Land Coalition with technical guidance from International Livestock Research Institute in the four clusters OLENGAPA, KIMBO, ALLOLE and NAPALAI).

Participatory Rangeland Management (PRM) Project have successfully developed the Grazing and Management Plans Framework (GLMPF); And On the 12^th and 13^th June 2020, TNRF in collaboration with KINNAPA, Kiteto District Council and Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries facilitated grazing land cluster leaders together with their political leaders (Councilors) to develop user friendly management plans for OLENGAPA, ALLOLE, KIMBO and NAPALAI grazing clusters where PRM is being piloted. The GLMPs will then be presented to the board of governors for each cluster for adoption then final approval by the cluster general assemblies.

After a successful biophysical survey and verification process of the ecological data from four grazing clusters in Kiteto district, the technical team led by experts from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, National Land Use Planning Commission, Kiteto District Council, KINNAPA and Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF) developed the first grazing land  management  plan framework to guide the communities in developing their own community driven approach to managing the grazing land resources for improved livestock production.
